Our Services

As we all know, finding a therapist can be a challenge. I am a licensed psychologist based in New York. I currently provide virtual individual therapy to children and adults who reside in the state of New York. I enjoy working with adults across the lifespan, although I have a particular specialization working with children and emerging adults, ages 18 to 40 years old. We do offer a sliding scale and do not take insurance.

At this time, services are offered via Telehealth only for residents in NYS.

Individual Therapy Services (virtual only in NY)

Dr. Tori uses her Human first approach to connect with clients and is a firm believer of making evidence based practices easily digestible. She utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy based approach (CBT) in order to provide clients with tangible strategies to assist with symptom reduction and relief. She also uses a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approach (DBT) in order to foster emotion regulation. In addition, Dr. Tori can provide clients with Executive Functioning skills as she has a strong background in treating and working with individuals with ADHD. Dr. Tori can provide individuals with diagnoses as well to better understand their struggles with mental health disorders.

Parent and Family Based Services

In addition to our individual therapy sessions for children, teens and adults, The Psych Lady also offers parent and family-based services. We understand that a child's well-being is connected to the livelihood of family and in addition, there is no rule book to parenting especially with children who have challenging behaviors. Dr. Tori is here to provide the tools and support to navigate parenting challenges and strengthen family relationships. She will work closely with your family to determine the most appropriate approach based on your specific needs and goals. She uses parent management training, PCIT rooted tools, and can also work with families to provide them strategies for working with children with OCD and anxiety based disorders.

Evaluations

Dr. Tori conducts neuro-psycho-educational testing for children and adolescents. Such evaluations provide information about an individual’s personal learning and behavioral profile. This can guide parents, teachers and educatiors to a plan wich is tailored to the child and their learning needs. Such assessments provide families with a better understanding of what is easy for the child ‘s brain and what is more difficult. When warranted, diagnosis of conditions such as ADHD, learning disorders, anxiety and other emotional disorders may be provided.  Each evaluation may look differnt due to the nature of concerns however it typically includes the following in the process:

  • In-depth parent interview, in which the child or adolescent’s complete social history is obtained and a clear definition of the concern is formulated

  • 2-4 test sessions with the child or adolescent

  • Consultation with necessary Stakeholders as needed

  • Classroom and assessment observation

  • Records Review (report cards etc)

  • A comprehensive feedback session with parents, in which all test results and diagnostic impressions are clearly explained and recommendations are outlined

  • A written report that includes analysis and interpretation of test results, diagnostic impressions, and recommended learning/intervention plan
